Supported Living

Rationale

Our Supported Living services provides assistance to individuals who reside in their owned or leased personal properties in a community-based setting. Services are geared to support the individual in becoming more self-sufficient in their homes and communities.

Scope

Services include, but are not limited:
• development of independence, daily living, self-advocacy, and survival skills;
• assistance in developing appropriate social behaviors;
• transportation to and from and within programs and activities;
• personal care assistance based on the participant’s access need;
• development of housekeeping skills; and
• assistance in developing patterns of living, activities, and routines that are appropriate for people with disabilities in their communities.

Staffing and Training

Staff and volunteers working for or contracted with Virtuous who provide supports services or spend any time alone with a participate will meet the following requirements:
• at least 18 years of age;
• First-Aid and CPR Certified;
• pass a criminal background check via CJIS;
• participate in in-service training on the Person-Centered Plan;
• complete orientation and training as designated by DDA;
• if administering medication, have a current CMT;
• possess a valid drivers license if transporting participants; and
• have automobile insurance for all vehicles that are owned, leased, and/or hired and used in the provision of services.

Setting and Location

Services will be provided in the Central Regions of Maryland.
